Big Five of Ugal

Description

The dry savannas and crevices of Ugal teem with predators and aggressive herbivores prone to charging at the tip of a hat. Because of these harsh surroundings, the Lapisrippers have adapted in ways that other Chromoraptors deem "monstrous" or "barbaric". In addition to their large size (they keep grow in size every time they kill other dromaeosaurs). oaglor.deviantart.com/art/Lapi…

Great Proto-Tyrant (Far Left): Like their legendary relatives, Proto-Tyrants were once widespread throughout Konureth but are now restricted to two regions: Ugal and Engannor. However, unlike the near-extinct Tyrants, these smaller predators are still quite common, despite their now-restricted range. These alioramins are among the fastest predators in the whole of Konureth and are capable of catching up to most mounts. Made worse is the fact that Great Proto-Tyrants (Prototyrannus mortis) hunt in prides of around 3-6 individuals, making their chances of hunting successfully that much greater.

Tree-Eata (Upper Left): At the northern edges of Ugal bordering Asesionn, the normally treeless savanna gives way to woodland which is occupied by different fauna than out in the plains. Among these are the Tree-Eatas (Arbophagos maximus)which feast mainly on wood and leaves creating clearings in the forest. Once regular targets of the mighty Tyrants, Tree-Eatas have evolved particularly hard osteoderms and a tendency to be provoked simply by the presence of any creature walking on two legs. Many unfortunate Chromoraptors and Llortls have been crushed and gored before they could see it coming. This outright aggression and their wood-eating diet have put them at odds with the Lapisrippers resulting in the Tree-Eatas declining in number.

Limb-Krunch (Bottom): Limb-Krunches (Cursorosuchus lupinus) are large, cursorial neosuchians that hunt in groups to chase and take down large or coordinated prey. Oddly, they are also known to hunt alongside Lapisrippers and even allow them to ride them as mounts.

Llortl (Towering over Lapisripper): Llortls (Regenofoetor horridus) used to rule the plains of present-day Ugal, Autrus, and Agrinia with an iron fist (or wing). However, as the ancestors of the Lapisrippers grew larger and mastered the use of the REEEE!, the Llortls' great size and brutality started to lose its edge and they started to lose more and more land to their smaller, more "organized" opponents. After their final defeat by a force of several Lapisripper tribes (who then turned on each other after the battle was won), the Llortls have migrated past the Barrier Mountains into the Frontier or hid in the labyrinthian tunnels underneath the Ugal plains. After biding their time and building up their forces, small bands of Llortls have started invading Ugal to reclaim their ancestral home.
